Our fuselage construction team had to the start the semester with a check of the inventory. Right after the team could start with the assembly of new parts such as the windshield to the fuselage.
On the 24th of November the Reutlingen University invited all interested people to an open door day. Of course the hangar of the IP plane opened it’s door as well. Besides the huge attention on the Pitts M-12 we could create some happy faces with the flight simulator, Tombola and self-made plane-cookies.
Our wing construction team is busy with assembling the wooden rips. This includes cutting, sanding and stick the the parts together with special glue. Before the team started with the original wood we used some test rips to improve our skills.
The world’s first aircraft built within a regular course from students of the technical faculty was ready for take off. After ten semester of construction in shifting teams, students of the study program International Project Engineering (B.Eng.) assembled the aircraft under the supervision of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Due to the nearly finished project with the RV-12, the hanger needs a new layout. The next plane we will assembly needs different tools and workplace environment. Many visitors informed themselves last Saturday about the current project status. Self-made flight simulator ran all the time. Coffee and cake were served. Great day! #bringitup
After the successful test last week, the next test were on the schedule. The main part of the test today was to solve the problem with the alternator. It was successful!
