The world’s first aircraft built within a regular course from students of the technical faculty was ready for take off. After ten semester of construction in shifting teams, students of the study program International Project Engineering (B.Eng.) assembled the aircraft under the supervision of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jochen Brune from 36.000 parts. The Vans Aircraft RV12 reaches six meter, weights 340 kilograms and can reach up to 210 kph. All in all 160 students participated in building and testing in over 20.000 working hours.
With guests from politics, press, university and all interested parties from all over Germany we celebrated the official maiden flight.
