Patrick Kirsch (supervisor of construction team #1)
My position as supervisor of construction team #1 comprises many important activities. It is required to motivate your team as well as being a guide for the technical working processes.
What is your motivation for your task?
Building this plane is the biggest and most complex project in our study. I am glad to be a part of it and to contribute by using my professional experience in this project.
What do you like most about your task?
I like to see the progress after each working day. It is not only paper work; the practical aspect is very interesting. Furthermore it is nice to the executive part of the project, everybody is interested in your work.
Which tools/professional methods do you use?
For the work preparation/documentation we use normal documentation tools with the help of office software. For the construction processes we use nearly every technical tool that you can find in a workshop.
What challenges are you facing during the project?
The high quality requirements are the most challenging aspect. Only with a high quality mind-set we can ensure a functional and safe plane.
Which courses do help you for this project and why?
I use skills and information from many courses, such as “Technical Documentation” and “Foundations of Design”. Moreover the experiences from my apprenticeship as a mechatronics worker and my job as a working student are helping me.
What are your expectations towards the project?
My expectations towards the project are reaching our targets that we set on the beginning of the semester, and of course a high quality performance in our team.
